I thought it would be easy.
Wife wants an I-POD for just music as a present.
But, which one?
Which one is best for just that?
She has a shuffle and I've got no idea since I don't have one.
If she just wants it for music, don't get the iPod Touch as they are basically an iPhone but without phone capabilities.
Go with either iPod Nano or iPod Classic for just music.
The classic is for a large music library. It holds 160 GB or 40,000 songs. $249
iPod Classic
The nano is 16 GB and a smaller size physically $149 iPod Nano
IPod Shuffle is just for music. No bells or whistles, just music. But you only got about 2GB of music (approx. 15hours).
Wife and daughter both have one and like them.
> But, which one?
Why don't you ask her?
My rule with gifts for the wife is "if in doubt, get whichever one is more expensive."
Why don't you ask her?
I might end up there, although, it's for Bday and I don't think she would be sure.
She knows she doesn't want the shuffle anymore.
I think the Nano is the way to go for her: and most importantly it has the right colors.
That's really important!
got swmbo nano 1 a few years back- 2gb. I think you can load family pictures on it also besides playing music. You can get them engraved also. She does projects and chores while using it.
10 yr old son has a shuffle for his use and he wants an I-touch because it has games to play. I don't think it will happen for him.
I have bupkis...:-(

I had a few minutes and got a Nano and it's kind of pink.
That should count for something.
Thanks for the help.
I really had almost no idea except that I see them everywhere.
I use my wife's discarded Droid X with a 64gb mini sd card.
Downloaded free mp3 and mp4 files into file named Music and it appears on the Desktop and plays like a champ thru bluetooth over my house sound system and in the car and truck and headphones.
Will connect with the internet over the wireless.
It is not even signed up on my phone service.
This should work with any bluetooth phone with an sd card.
B-)
