[sarcasm]I just found another message board. It can be seen at http://community.pobonline.com/home

They had a Post on June 4th, one on June 3rd, and one on May 28th.[/sarcasm]

Even though it takes more time to keep up here becasue of the volume, I think I will check here most often. Maybe if I go over there once a month, I can read all of their posts in 10 minutes.

It might have been the place you visited, but I lasted there about 2 days after their format changed into an impossible-to-navigate monster.

I enjoy this place at least as much "other similar venues", maybe more. But comparing Wendell's site to any other is simply not fair however. It's like apples and oranges.

Here we have a free exchange of thought and occasional jocular banter. I've seen other sites where that was saved only for the admin..er..dominator. We are what we are and hopefully stupid question and stupid answers will always be allowed. That, along with incidental crummy-ass jokes and occasional warm fuzzies keeps me reading what is on everybody's mind.

It has been well over a year since I even ventured a peek at anybody else's 'survey message board'. I have no need. And in that is the beauty and balance of it all. They have no need for me, either.

Sorry for weighing down a "humor post". Maybe I can pick it back up with a joke:

Q: How many POBers does it take to change a light bulb?

A: Three. One to screw in the light bulb and two to stand around and talk about how great the old light bulb was. 😉

Everybody have a good Fridee.

Aren't you overlooking the obligatory post with the subject line "What Makes You Think it was a Light Bulb?" and explaining that you haven't satisfactorily proven that it was a light bulb in the first place.

There would also, of course, be the new thread by an RTK user asking what the minimum number of turns required to screw in a light bulb is because the saleman had said as long as the light bulb doesn't fall out of the socket when you take your hand off it, you're golden.

Who knows?
Maybe the plan all along over there was to destroy or abandon the message board site for surveyors and the prime motive was to gather info on users for marketing etc. The old board caused a lot of heartburn for them digesting all the crapola that went down parallel to the good survey content presented by users.
After all, they proclaim thousands and thousands of registered users but the postings reflect only a few dozen at the most. So 2+2 doesn't add up over there. It appears as a "bogus" message board to me.
I still receive mailings from them after repeated requests to be removed from any lists etc.

If we had a Record of Light Bulb on file then we might know the who/what/when/why/where on it.

Q: How many POBers does it take to change a light bulb?

A: Three. One to screw in the light bulb, one to rant about anonymous light bulb replacers, and one to threaten to notify the Department of Energy regarding the bogus replacement of light bulbs.

But then, if you can't read the manufacturer's name on the thing, is it really a light bulb?

Looks like we're all starting Friday with a good laugh in our bellies.

Actually Only One

One to screw in the light bulb, the same one to ask all the same light bulb questions and again the same one to answer all the same questions.

That's only because the guys who screwed in that infamous Florida light bulb (ignoring the Oregon Court's clear light bulb replacement instructions) aren't man enough to answer the questions themselves.

By precisely measuring the amount of light it puts forth we could tell if it is close enough to be called a light bulb.

The lawyers are telling me I need to specifically certify that what in my opinion was a light bulb ten years ago still is.

Of course when you change the light bulb you have to include successors and assigns in your certification that it really is a light bulb.

That's what happens when you have Georgia light bulb experts testifying in Florida light bulb cases.

"A: Three. One to screw in the light bulb and two to stand around and talk about how great the old light bulb was. ;-)"

It is mandatory that one of the two standing around MUST be from (or retired from) the BLM. 😉

Don't forget We NEED to require ALL Light bulb changers have a degree in electrical engineering....

and if you find a track light with 5 light bulbs and they are all not illuminated you should install a new socket where you think the original drawing by the arckyteck showed it.....

and if you go into a room and find a candle, you should probably mash a Compact flourecent into it....
