Wife, "Is there a reason the light is on in bathroom?"

Me, "Yes, the switch is in the 'on' position. When the switch is in the 'on' position then the light will be on."

Me neither.
Last night...
Wife - " The kitchen cabinets I want are just like the ones in the other house, but they should have.....".
Me cutting her off - "Then it's not just like."

Dave,

I know you have been married a long time. Haven’t you learned about proper responses to SWMBO????

Instead of you, obviously with no forethought, saying;

“Yes, the switch is in the 'on' position. When the switch is in the 'on' position then the light will be on.".

You should have said;

“Oh honey, I’m sorry I must have neglected to turn it off. I'll turn it off right now! Would you like me to massage your feet before you prepare supper?

You might also try learning how to pretend to listen to SWMBO, and correct responses associated therewith, simultaneously while watching TV.;-)

(tongue in cheek)

Have a great weekend!

FL/GA,

NO NO NO There are to many words in your answer. Each word could be a trap or used against you.

There are two words said sincerely that a man can use in any situation with his SWNBO that will keep him out of trouble. . . . "Yes Dear."

Dave...

It is very important to accompany SWMBO to the furniture store when selecting a new sofa. At 6'-4", I find it imperative to find one that not only fits mama's sense of style, but also find one that one's feet do not hang over the end!:-(

You are a brave man Dave!

Joe & JD

The ONLY time I slept on the couch is when I just happened to fall asleep while I was sitting/laying on the couch.

If my wife was that mad she could sleep on the couch if she so chose.:{:

Right on!!!!

My ex wife told me she was upset with me so I should go sleep in the other room.

I made it very clear that if she didn't want to sleep with me, she should go sleep in the other room. She did.

Course she is an ex!

Good advice for others, if I were to say “yes dear” she would immediately accuse me of not “listening”. Therefore the following conversation would rapidly deteriorate into things that need to be fixed around the house etc. And then chastising me for whatever happened to irritate her at the time.;-) 😉

SWMBO and I have been together for 43 years,(and still madly in love with one another) so I know what I’m talking about! (I think)

(Angel, help me here...please);-)

Have a great weekend!

Oh. . . .Something to forward too. We have been together a little less than half the time you have and "Yes Dear" is still working strong.

You guys are funny. Got me cracking up over here!! 😀

Wendell never tells me "Yes Dear". When I piss and moan, he just gives me this "look" with one eye brow raised. I had to learn how to ask nicely if I want something done, and to not nag and nag. Otherwise, nothing gets done!! :-/ (works both ways, too!)

I did learn that not nagging and asking nicely DOES get 99.9% of everything I ask for!! And of course the nightly scalp and back scratching is an added bonus for him plus it benefits me for future requests/wants/needs. Plus I do lots of other little things for him, just because. I figure hey he is my husband, the #1 person in my life, my best friend, my human blankie, my daughters father, my heart and soul, my everything, and he deserves the best I can possibly give. 🙂 :love:

Dave...

I am also 6-4. We recently purchased a sleeper sofa that is long enough for a nap on the sofa.
