I'm going down to Richardson, Tx. tomorrow morning to pick up some equipment. I'm fairly familiar with N. Dallas (at least used to be), my Grandparents lived in Addison..it's changes in the last 20 years.
Anyway, I've never been on the PGBush Turnpike, how much are the toll fees?
Couldn't resist

They do "Zip Cash" on the toll roads in Dallas. Basically, you just drive on the toll road and they send you a bill in the mail, as they have done away with the toll booths and installed cameras.
The costs vary. If you purchase a zip pass, it is around $0.50 every couple of miles. No zip pass is roughly double that.
I am assuming you are coming 35e to 75? Youll be passing 2 toll gantrys each way $1.50 each. You can bypass and cut across in Gainesville via hwy 82. No that much longer time wise, and by the time you start getting into traffic you are practicaly at Midwests door.
Thanks Roadhand.
Dallas Toll Roads
I have been to Dallas twice in the last 6 months and each time I wnet through a toll both where they said they would send me a bill. I have not been billed yet. I suspect that they are looking for front License plates, and Arkansas does not require a front plate. I think the toll each time was 0.53 so they may be waiting till I have a big enough bill to justify the stamp.
Dallas Toll Roads
The tollways photograph the front AND the rear of each vehicle.
Verified by driving through @ night...front flash...then rear flash.
Myself, I have tollway stickers (with internal sensors..RFID?) plastered on the windshield of all of my vehicles. My motorcycle has a velcroed module.
Don't know if it works on out of state plates though.
I heard they were going to rename it the BH-Obama turnpike and charge a different amount depending on the make of your car. 😉
Hey Roadhand...
Didn't pay a cent. All the Toll Booths were closed. There's a sign posted that reads "KEEP MOVING - WE'LL BILL YOU". Basically what Tim said earlier.
Guess that means they snapped a pic of my tag. Seems like a lot of trouble. But hey, it's a great road and sure beats the LBJ or the Belt Line.
Oh well....I guess it wasn't that funny or no one got it. I usually laugh at my own jokes, though, so all is not lost.
What are toll roads?
I'm guessing its a very very expensive road that no one else wants to pay for?
Seriously though..I'm really glad the nearest toll road to me is probably 5 hours away.

Hey Roadhand...
Yes they do bill you, 1.50 each. You can get through for 75 cents if you get a toll tag. I live right off of it and take it everywhere I go. It is money well spent IMHO.
I presume Danny and John took good care of you? They are good people for sure.
Hey Roadhand...
They took exceptional care, except it cost an arm and a leg...when those things (GR-3s) fry, they fry good.
The pair had been to another outfit (rhymes with Bozark) a month prior and never really worked 100% after I got them back. The guys at Midwest found quite a few things that were apparently missed by the other outfit.
It's good to have them back...17 sats, constant fix under canopy in an industrial urban area with the base 3/4 of a mile away. Life is good...so is Ramen Noodles.
BTW, The Dallas area is exactly as I remembered it, only bigger. I think they could double the cost of that road an it would still save people money.
