I am making my way to the Four Corners Conference in Durango CO. Along the way I saw this sign.
You know I had to stop and take a photo. Then I walked up the road and took a shot of GPS unit setup.
Love the little monster protecting the unit.
Anyway, I got up the road just a bit and saw the surveyors. I told them they needed to be more careful where they left their equipment and I had picked it up for them. "I have the stuff in the back of the car. Where do you want it?"
"Sam" was very nice but told me he really hoped I hadn't done that. I told him I was just messin' with him and to have a great day.

PS: If Sam is at the Four Corners Conference I'll offer to buy him a beer. He reacted to my pronouncement very professionally.
Very cool pics LP. I like the troll watching out for the gear.
I have left a card on equipment, with a note that said "Thanks for the offer, but I PREFER my topcon GPS gear!"
I have left a card in front of the glass, on a backsite tripod rig, that blocked over 50% of the glass, so that they could not get a dist, without removing the card....
Larry, I found a crew staking RW mkrs one time. Told them I had one of "those 3 legged things, that I found beside the road a few months ago, and was it worth anything.... it had one of those upside down mirror things on it". (I had a set of legs in the back of the pickup) I had them believing I had stolen them. I finally told them I was a surveyor. Too much fun!

I woulda squirted you in the face with 100% DEET.
I know a guy that hangs a "Danger - High Voltage" sign on his unit.
I've threatened to hang one of the radiation signs on ours.

They say that stuff causes cancer; but I don't care how the d@mn mosquitoes die.
Way cool, the new Trimble Glonass base. Just got mine a few days ago ... average 16 satellites ... still had a "fix" under pine and cypress canopy today staking clearing limits ... yeah, Topcon that 😛
I simply love the troll in that pic and I am going to steal the idea of High Voltage signage!
