My wife would like to go to South Carolina for our 10 year anniversary sometime in March/April/May. We are both from California, and don't know anything about going there. We're not the golf/tennis types, but we do like the ocean. We like history a bit, looking at nice architecture, and strolling around towns and cities. We'd like to stay along the coast somewhere, we'll probably stay 4 nights or so. Looking to spend no more than $250/night. Don't prefer Bed and Breakfasts, but also don't like big chain hotels.
Any recommendations?
I have lived in South Carolina for many years. CHARLESTON is the S.C. vacation destination.... your wife will want to stay downtown... do it, spend it, its worth it. Cab rides will kill you. Food is to die for, the town is SUPER historic, you can walk nearly everywhere.... I recommend the tours from the Charleston Historical society and EVEN the parade of homes too. I recommended staying at the www.venduesuites.com it may be just out of your price range for April/March (peak season).
If not Charleston then... Litchfield Beach, Pawley's Island, or Edisto for the beach.
Thanks for the recommendation.
I would book a cruise on carnival out of Charleston, spend a few days before the cruise in charleston. My wife and I did this in October and it was great!
By the way, which is the biggest airport in the Charleston region?
If you are both divers, head down to the east side of the FL keyes.
Nothing against SC.
Seabrook Island. That is where we honeymooned 20 years ago.
Day trips to Charleston.
We will return. It was wonderful.
