Local kid got a trip to Darby to hunt from a specially-equiped wheelchair.
don't click if you're offended by pictures of harvested big-game animals

The comments following that story are v. entertaining.
I grew up in the U.P. of Michigan and many winters my family depended for meat on my Grandpa's abilities to poach animals.
My Dad was from Chicago and never really caught on:-)
But, for some reason, I really object to the term "harvest" to describe killing mammals. Fish, maybe; chickens, possibly, but not large warm-blooded animals. It's just not respectful.

I harvest white tail deer, with the bumper of my car. Sometimes I harvest them with somebody else's bumper. The local police call me sometimes.

HARVEST Means Putting To Good Use

Don, some people are just negative about everything.

Congratulations to all involved.

I have had the pleasure of teaching safe shooting to able bodied Scouts. I can only imagine the extra effort and therefore extra reward in this event.

I'm sure Montana is no different than any other state in that regard, Rankin. It's just that, in my mind, crops are harvested, animals are hunted.
The term is in pretty wide use and acceptance, I know, I just personally don't like it.

I have no objection to shooting and eating animals, BTW, although I've never hunted with my car. Maybe that would be harvesting:-)

Hunting is what you do with the window down..

Harvesting is when you pull up next to the kill and have the youngin's heft it in the back of the pickup.

Resurrection of an old joke...

Guy gets back from a week at deer camp.

He's mad at his wife for not packing him any clean underwear, "I had to wear the same pair all week!"

His wife said, "I packed you plenty of underwear."

"Where?"

"In your gun case..." :pinch:
