There is a joke older than I am that involved a youngster being asked about a specific country leader's name. He said he couldn't say it or he would be in trouble with his mother. Once he was convinced that he would not get in trouble he answered proudly, "Hail Silly Assie". (Haile Selassie of Ethiopia)

I was reminded of that story while watching election results running across the bottom of the TV screen tonight. One of those running for US Senator from Missouri bears the name Chief Wana Dubie.

http://fox4kc.com/2015/07/16/chief-wana-dubie-announces-bid-for-u-s-senate-from-missouri/

The current report shows he is actually ahead of one other contender.

U.S. Senator 2860 of 3216 Precincts Reported
Chief Wana Dubie Democratic 25,099 9.632%
Cori Bush Democratic 32,343 12.412%
Jason Kander Democratic 184,058 70.637%
Robert Mack Democratic 19,069 7.318%

I hope this doesn't count as "Politics". If so, please forgive me Wendell. Then delete, if necessary.

Don't want to continue the politics here but it appears that the incumbent Republican Sen. Blunt already has the cannabis vote locked in.

Unofficial final results show him finishing third out of four.

U.S. Senator 3216 of 3216 Precincts Reported
Chief Wana Dubie Democratic 30,340 9.519%
Cori Bush Democratic 42,255 13.257%
Jason Kander Democratic 222,769 69.890%
Robert Mack Democratic 23,378 7.334%

By the way, incumbent Roy Blunt received more votes than all four of these candidates combined. So, Robert must be correct about a certain voting demographic.

Y'know, when I first started participating on the old forum about 15 years ago, I was under the wrong impression of your given name. I thought it was an alias name representing white supremacist beliefs.
You were a young bible spouting and neo-conservative poster from backwoods Arkansas priding himself in his Arky patois or illiteracy.
You even emailed an unsolicited racist joke that I replied and told you to omit me from any mailings that you do. I couldn't believe how stupid a person could be.
So it was odd that it was your real name.

Let's keep our schools of conservatism straight

This is a Neoconservative

Nate's more of a Social Conservative

And I'm a Traditionalist Conservative / Tory (the top hat gives it away :))

A couple years ago I was driving through Gray's Harbor County during the time of an upcoming election. The sign that really got my attention was for a person named Rick Hole, what's even better he was running for Assessor. Son's girlfriend said maybe he pronounces it Hole`.

Thanks for the correction. I thought that it was something that takes less thought.

Unfortunately, all of the Tory men were not hung by the 18th Centurty patriots.
Some were granted (or bought) their clemency in ye olden days,
It's too bad because they are among us now masquerading as patriots.

Have a daughter living in Missouri. She reported seeing various forms of advertising for Chief Wana Dubie. One was a T-shirt that read: Dubie vs Blunt.

Can you imagine hearing this introduction at a White House dinner with foreign leaders in attendance: Ladies and Gentlemen, it is now my distinct honor to recognize and introduce to you the Honorable Senator Chief Wana Dubie of Missouri.
