That golden throated angel Joey Feek passed away last night..way too soon, only 40 years old. Her and her overall clad husband, Rory made a lot of good music. I saw them a few years ago with Don Williams when he kicked off his "feeling better tour" in OKC. I hate to hear such news.

Thanks. Great music.

Paden. Thanks for that specific example of her work. It took me back over 50 years to our little church and finally grasping the meaning of a song as opposed to merely reciting the words. It puts a very personal spin on religion and life. That song and Love Lifted Me were the two songs that my sister and I sang as a duet before the entire church (all forty or so present) when I was about 10 and she was 16. The first of many public performances. I've had to stand before over 1500 to present professional material but was never as nervous as I was standing before my close friends, neighbors and schoolmates.
That song and "The Old Rugged Cross" were two of my grandmother's favorites...which meant she sang them all the time. Drive a young boy nuts....:pinch:
But I'm thankful for the memories of my upbringin'. If I'm ever on "Jeopardy" I'll be doing great if they have that category....
"Alex, I'll take 'Old Hymns' for a $1000."
That was as good as I have ever heard it. It was sung at the funeral of close family members.
