back story is I used to post process these data sets in a rinex format from these little ashtech L1 receivers using a version of gnss solutions (it was an older version and my old boss had a sample project set up that we would "save as" and the only thing I guess that project did is it had some cors stations deleted and had only the "good" ones left in there) I was getting basically sub-baseball results with ortho heights (this will be a question) and wgs84 lat and long.
now at a different place I am breaking out these sokkia stratus' and we set them up and ran them for about 2 hours and I have downloaded this free gnss solutions from ashtechs site because I am familiar with it and while everything is very familiar it seems like its nicer I can download the ngs data right from here (I used to have to go to the site and get it) so I processed 2 points where the vectors turned "green" and everything says they have a confidence level of under 2 tenths.
1- can I put a geiod model into this software to get the ortho heights? because if I do the math (right) i get an elevation thats 30-40 from what GE says and between the 2 points 2' different from the total station.
2- any advice about why this might be different from when I used to do it? I have played with this software and read/watched everything i can, so before giving up I thought I would come here.
I don't have any experience with that particular software but the first thing to do in GPS work when you are getting results that aren't quite right is to check the state plane zone setting, and the foot definition setting.
