So Ghost Adventures is one of my favorite shows. New episode on tonight. There is a legend that on a certain stretch of road, your vehicle will be pushed "uphill", and that spirit entities (children?) are responsible for the paranormal activity. To check the grade of the road and verify if indeed cars are pushed "uphill", Zak and his crew hire professional surveyors. The camera crew shows the survey crew at work. And what equipment do they use to check the existing road grade? GPS!!! grrrr... It's even introduced by the professional surveyor as "very expensive" equipment. so what?!? that doesn't make it accurate for elevations!!

Didn't see the show, but I'm guessing the RTK was able to determine the direction of the slope, right? ... and looked good on TV? What's the problem?

You are mistaking an expectation of accurate results with showmanship.

Would it have made a difference for the show if the surveyor proved the slope drops 3.1' (+/- 0.1') in one direction verse 3.098' (+/- 0.001') in that direction?

In order to serve the needs of the show you need to find that it slopes uphill. Accuracy is not a consideration.

If it's steep enough to make a car roll GPS should be good enough.

If it's steep enough to make a car roll GPS then just putting the car in neutral should be good enough.

A compleat and exhaustive list of "Gravity Hills"

Wiki's List

There is actually more than one in Oklahoma that I know of..so I guess this list isn't so "compleat and exhaustive".

Whenever I had a bust in a level run I always blamed it on ghost children messing with the rod or the HI
