Partly Due To Colorado's Power Switch

Colorado officially set in motion the closing of 2 coal fired power plants, the switching of several coal plants to gas and authorized construction of 2 new gas power plants.

Gas was a bargain because the demand was lower than for liquid fuels. Due to that the giant liquid fuel companies were able to leverage their way into ownership of the a good portion of the gas and will now manipulate prices at their will. By the time that gas generation comes on line the fuel cost will be so high that the oil giants came take over some of the electric generation. Welcome to that free open energy market they promised years ago. One of the results of such a market is that one or a small group can own everything just as easily as a 1,000 independant competing companies, but the one or few can make a much greater return.

Ted, you will just be another slave.

We have a choice "Live free or die."

BTW, this will soon become P&R.

Gasoline is a few cents under $3 here.

This area has one coal powered electric plant at Cason that has been operating since early 70s

Two more are in the works

Hey T, $3.5 for gas, and $ 2.58 for propane on the budget program in good ole upstate NY...you know, the lake effect place! I don't even care to think of the electric bill, round $100 a month...my house would fit in your garage...taxes last year 4.6k, Oh yeah I live on a dirt road, and the plows love it on the holidays!!! Quadruple double upside down overtime, no snow to plow just hours to put in!!! Any more info on the sun, love to hear that stuff....makes the smart guys go crazy, wonder how much they agonize over it???
