I Grew up in and still live in Tornado Alley. It is just a fact of life and we have a warning system. But they are so rare where you live.

From 1950 to 1996 you averaged just over 8 a year total in 6 New England states. Mostly the little ones. They say Taxachussetts is the local tornado alley there. With the first on recorded in 1643. We average more in one year than NE got in 47 years.

You can have your tornadoes... here we have threats of touristia's and potential of traffics jams on our forecast...

Mother in law lives in Worcester and had plans to meet SWMBO for dinner last night but cancelled due to the weather. 2" hail and tornadoes; I guess I would have stayed home too!

Springfield, Brimfield (home of the worlds famous flea market), and Sturbridge all got roughed up..

My nephew lives in Agawam, just SE of Springfield, when I called to see if he was OK, he said that he saw the storm when he was driving down I-91 on his way home. He and his wife were both fine, but he said he was helping a friend who had some trees blown down and tthe siding taken off his house.

This morning I called the company where I work part time to check up on the guys and gals; the were all OK, but parts of the town (Charlton) were out of power.
