Some folks have email addresses that are too simple for the "junk" detectors. I can get 30 emails from the same sender and then one day, boom, they get moved to junk. Marking it "not junk" seems to fix the problem for a week or two and then one day, boom, it happens again.

Brad, I started an outlook premium account for the same reason ([SARCASM]down with Harness media [/SARCASM] ) and, I've been working on my 'contacts' list for that reason. Difference is, I've been using a personal Hotmail account for a couple of decades and, over those years, I've learned that setting my inbox to exclusive is key (exclusive allows contacts into inbox).

I've attached an excel file that shows the column layout/ headers that outlook (web-based) is expecting when you import your contacts. You can do some pre-upload QA/QC to make sure your list is correctly parsed.

From my experience, any column can be left blank without a problem. However, having 2 first names will lead that contact to fail.
When I did mine, it reported that there was trouble uploading; however, I believe all of my contacts came in just fine. Only those with 2 first names failed and that wasn't enough to worry about (issue with oldest phone contacts not having separate fields for first and last name>.

Attached files

Outlook-Online_CSV_Column-Headers.xls (23.5 KB)

Hijack...
I'm working my way through what may very well be the worst title commitment schedule B in the history of mankind. Ripple sounds good right now.

I see many apples mixed with oranges here. An email provider would be something that Office 365, Outlook Premium, or Google G Suite offers. An email CLIENT would be a program you install on your computer, like Outlook 2016, Thunderbird, etc.

Brad, something isn't adding up just right with that problem and I'm sorry it's not working out for you. If you want to move to G Suite, I can set all that up for you. It's bad enough that you moved to Outlook Premium at my recommendation, so I'd like to help fix it at no charge. I'm on Office 365 and I love it -- very rarely does anything legit go into my junk folder. If it does, I report it as "not junk" but I also add the sender to my contacts. This seems to solve the problem. The support I get from Office 365 is phenomenal -- the last time I called them, I was on hold for maybe 20 seconds before I got to talk to a real human in the U.S., who then fixed my problem without question (even though it ended up being my own damn fault).

As always, thanks brother. You are the best. This thread has given me a lot of good advice and I am settling into a regular check the junk folder routine for the short term. In the long run, maybe you can send me the phone number for that helpful human at Microsoft.

Wendell, I am curious if you tried the eM Client with your 365. I have found it the same if not better than an Outlook client and way cheaper, so, I am Office 365 Business Essentials @ $5 per month with eM Client for now

I use the standard web interface with my Business Premium account and love it. I've never tried eM.

Brad, Outlook Premium and Office 365 are different products. Outlook is just Outlook and Office is the whole Office suite, just like old times. So I'm not sure if the support system is the same for both.

Why would you run Thunderbird under Wine? Native Thunderbird runs fine in BSD. (Or Linux too, IIRR, but I normally use Kmail.)

As to a mail server, I run Postfix.

Did somebody say to use Wine? I missed that.
Yes, Thunderbird is ported to Windows, Debian, Arch, Gentoo, etc. It is kinda universal. I have been copying my .thunderbird folder to and from all distros without problem or loss of data despite it being more than 3.5GB. (actually IIRC copy does Not work with Windows)
