I think deviled eggs are fun. Make them all the time. I typically like to zip them up a bit with a bit of garlic & onion powder and a splash of cayenne, aside from the normal mayo/mustard mix. Then sprinkle the paprika on to just to finish it off. Lots of compliments on my recipe.

Opps, not only did I "slip" with the cayenne, but what I thought was the paprika sprinkle spice turned out to be the other cayenne sprinkle spice. I buy my cayenne pepper in the big jugs, but like to keep a small one around just because I can. I goofed up when I grabbed that one.

I thought they were good, but it seems a couple friends didn't laugh so much.

On a funnier note, I went to a Halloween party as Uncle Sam a few years back. It was pot luck, so I said I'll bring the deviled eggs. I even went so far as to get little toothpick flags for each one. Awesome presentation!! The devil side of me said, "...devil, heck with the paprika - go cayenne.." So I locked and loaded them, and they were well beyond zippy.

The people that ate them looked at me with their eyes watering and said "...what did you do.." My simple reply was "..same thing Uncle is doing, burning your a$$$ hole out so just enjoy".. Funniest part is that all 2 dozen of them (that makes 48 if my math is right) were gone within a couple hours. No doubt everybody had good "reports" in the morning... 😛

Hmm...I can't make that work, but maybe that depends on whether you use a 12-hour clock or a 24-hour clock. 😉

Funny Mark, 2 dozen = 12 x 2 = 24. I always cut my eggs in half, thus the deviled theme. 24 x 2 = 48. I think.

These aren't metric eggs though, nor organic or free range. I only get the large or extra large, and hopefully one is on sale which is the ultimate deciding factor. And I hope there is a hockey game on whilst I'm assembling all this..... ahhhh life is good... 😉

Hey Wayne - do you like hot salsa too?

If so, try Mrs. Renfros' Ghost Pepper Salsa. Have some habenero stuff standing by for the cool down!

My wife likes the bland ones, Mayo, mustard, pickle relish and paprika.

I like to replace the pickle relish with diced pickled jalapenos.

Actually Jim, I buy that Mrs Renfro brand all the time. SWMBO tends to buy the cheap stuff, but I'd rather spend a buck or 2 more and get the good stuff. I'll seek that Ghost Buster version out.
