There are times when I dream about relocating to the Delmarva Peninsula, either Delaware or Maryland, and either the Delaware Bay or the Chesapeake Bay.

The Cape gets to crowded in the summer and anytime that I have traversed the Delmarva it's seemed much more quiet and calmer than the Cape in the summer!

How is the work around there? I see that prices aren't to bad, I could even afford a water front home in some areas, at least from what I've seen on Zillow.

I did take a look at the Delaware requirements and note that I would have to take the Drainage and Jurisprudence exam, how difficult is it? And what about Maryland?

So, what is Delaware like? Or is Maryland a better alternative? what am I looking for? Warmer winters and quieter summers, in a sailing location!

Spain looks good, too, or Uruguay and Chile! I'll have to learn Spanish first though!

Thanks,
Dtp

Maryland will require two years of verifiable experience in hydrology/road grade/storm drain/storm water management design or four colleges classes in the same to sit for the state specific exams as a comity applicant.

The state specific portion is two exams: a four hour hydrology/storm drain exam and a two hour state law exam.

My experience on only on the western shore, but my impression is that there is a lot more work on this side of the bay.

Hi Jim, thanks for the suggestion but I've been there, and it's to warm in the summer and to windy for SWMBO.

I'm hoping for a temperate climate, not unlike the Cape, with seasons, just longer summers and shorter winters 🙂

Don,
Costa Rica - No extradition w/ the USA, though. If its ever needed.

Daughters quote this AM "I wish the summer was as long as the winter seems"
