Heading down to DC for the weekend tomorrow. My niece is getting married at the Washington Gold and Country Club Sunday evening so I might have some free time Saturday while the girls are at the wedding shower.

I'm trying to figure how to spend a few hours in the area without trying to do to much. I was there just a year and half ago and am curious about any civil war sites within driving range that might worth visiting. Or other ideas... We'll be staying in Falls Church...

Angelo gave me a few ideas from his last trip...

If you see BHO, tell him to stop wasting my money!

JK, hope you have a great time!

I let the President know your feelings over lunch on sunday...

Manassas might be do-able Eddie... but the others are kind of far away. Where are you located? Closer to Frederick MD aren't you?

Give me a call 508-922-6122 if you're around saturday during the day.. We'll have to discuss your 'Red Meat" contributions!! hahaha

If all else fails, I spent Christmas of 65 in an Irish Bar not far from the White House, bet you could spend a few hours in there to kill some time.

Don't know, they let me in and my family is Scotch. Been a long time since 65, might want to test the waters by throwing your hat in to see if gets thrown back. That will let you know how the present clientele feels about it.

Jud could be talking about Old Ebbet Grill , which is on 15th Street, just east of the White House.

The Corner Bar (I think it used to be called Joe's Bar) is inside.

For a more modern dinner, "The Source" on 6th Street off Pennsylvania (behind the Newseum) is nice, if a bit pricey.
