Got mine today. The Crag Rat. These are some bad-a$$ boots!
Still waiting on mine, but I didn't get the Crag's. I thought they'd be too high on my short little legs and maybe too warm for summertime.
Danner's are the BEST! Have had about 8 pairs...They are good for at least a year and comfy!
I have been hearing allot of good things about Danner boots. I have worn only Red Wing boots all my life but after my last two pairs I am looking for another brand. I am not sure what went wrong with Red Wing but in my opinion they just went downhill. I was always willing to pay more for quality but I just do not see it any more in Red Wing.
The only things is that I cannot find a local Danner shop that sells the work boot series. Most places that have Danner only carry the hunting series.
Did you have any issues with mail order for the boots? Say if you find out you may need a half size bigger or smaller than usually once you tried on the Danner brand and you needed to return for the correct size?
mine are SUPPOSED to show up today (again). the shipping has been a fiasco, but they've been helpful on the phone at least. i just got the bull runs- it never gets cold enough around here that i'd want anything more insulated or bulky.
Update: they got here, and yeah- they're some nice boots. Hopefully I can get em broken in this weekend.
Mine were waiting on me when I got home. It was my birthday Wednesday, so I look at it as a late arriving gift to meself. 🙂

Got mine about a week ago.
Went with the USAF TFX 8" Sage Green GTX NMT.
Very nice looking boot and was comfortable right out of the box. I have thought about trying the Danner boots for a while, but was hesitant over the price. Since it was a sell and the boots were about half off, I figured it was worth a shot.
I was taking topo shots in a low area yesterday and had no water infiltration at all! I probably hiked a good 15 miles in them so far and they have been comfortable since step one. If they hold up well, I'll be Danner boot fan.

Got mine today. They are a little tight and have a few pressure points, but it might the socks that I've been in all day. I'll be able to gauge better tomorrow with fresh socks that aren't as thick. It was a bit chilly here today, so I wore some that went well with the weather.

I just ordered a pair of Red Wing 899s because I can get 14B and I'm very happy with the pair I have now.
They cost $297 (custom made). The boot allowance I get is $100.
