Easton is the home of Binney & Smith, makers of the world famous crayola Crayons. At the "Crayola Factory" industrial strength artsy crafty fun place, they are dropping a 10' tangerine colored crayon. Festivities start at 2PM, since this is for kids.

What is your town dropping.

Giant Yellow Peep Drop In Bethlehem, PA

10 miles from Easton Bethlehem, PA is home to Just Born Candies. Besides Mike & Ike and Jelly Belly candies Just Born makes those yellow marshmallow eggs found in every Easter basket. This afternoon they will drop a giant lighted Yellow peep for all the young at heart.

On the way down they blast it with air cannons loaded with confetti. Please do not call the Politically Correct Police.

Rumor has it that tonight..

Some good ole' boys are going to throw a Californian off the top of the Radio Tower on Big Mountain...
... kind of a peace offering to the gods of the new year in hopes of not having to hear the words "Back in California...." in 2012.

JUST KIDDING!!!!!!!!!

Liberty Bell Drop In Allentown, PA

15 miles from here is Allentown, PA home of Zion United Church of Christ, where the "Liberty Bell" was hidden beneath the floor during the Revolutionary War. They will drop an electric Liberty Bell at midnight.

In September of 1777 the "State House Bell" was put in a wagon covered with hay and manure and snuck out of Philadelphia to prevent the Bristish from capturing it. Actually about a dozen bells were removed from Philadelphia churches and buildings to prevent the British from turning them into cannons. The "State House Bell" was returned to Philadelphia in June, 1778 after the British were driven out.

I helped my brother drop three 80 foot pine trees killed by the drought in my Mothers back yard. Used a manlift to cut the limbs on the way up then cutting about 5 foot sections coming back down.

Then me and my wife celebrated New Years Allen Jackson style. It was 12 o'clock somewhere.
