I waited in front of Costco this morning, along with 300 other people, an hour before they opened, to get toilet paper. I had to get a ticket; when I got to the head of the line, I handed them my ticket and they handed me my toilet paper. I had to take what they gave me, Kirkland brand...

The TP thing just astounds me.?ÿ A couple of weeks ago my wife and I went to Costco to do our normal shopping.?ÿ TP and chicken were on the list.?ÿ The store had neither.?ÿ I spent a couple of days this week in central CA on a rail crossing (damn out of town surveyors) and took the opportunity to stop by the Chico Costco to pick up some cheap Vodka and maybe a pack of the yet to be acquired TP.?ÿ To my delight, I got a pack.?ÿ But the funny thing was how many people were still running around with 2 packs of the store brand and 2 packs of Charmin (each had a two pack limit).?ÿ Why could you possibly need over 150 rolls of wipe? This is not a stomach virus.
Since Oregon seems to be shutting down I stopped by Costco to pick up some fruit and chicken.?ÿ The line into the joint was a good 1/4 mile long.?ÿ Lots of fruit and vitamins to be found, just know TP or chicken.?ÿ Guess I'm going to have to poach a couple of grouse instead.?ÿ Or just eat the squirrels that have taken up residency in my office building.
Sorry for your loss. Dealing with it is bad enough....the added conundrum of wanting to go......that's rough. Keep your chin up.
I saw a news article coming out of Washington somewhere last week. They were approaching people who were in the process of leaving a Costco (or something similar- a wholesaler) with the intention of asking about of stockpiling goods........
They approached one guy (on camera) and realised at the last second that he had 15 cartons of condoms and large jar of coconut oil.
That sounds like a busy weekend.
On another note, in Bavaria, Germany (where I live) they have just announced a mandatory 5 week closure of all schools and kindergartens. Sporting events have been steadily cancelled for the last few weeks.
In Australia (where I am from) they have just cancelled the F1 in Melbourne.......after the teams arrived of course. Great job guys.

@dougie shoot me if you see me waiting in line for TP. I stopped in at Albertsons the other day and picked up three twelve packs. One tortilla, one toilet paper and one beer. I should be good for a while. One benefit of being active in a church is that when tragedy strikes people want to bring you food. A buddy called last night and offered whiskey and a cigar; figured I had enough food already.
@micheal-daubyn-2 You know condoms come in three size packages: a six-pack for the college guys, a three-pack for the high-schoolers, and a dozen for married men (January, February...)
State of IL just closed all schools until April. Gonna be working from home and dealing with three kiddos keeping up with their classwork. SWMBO has to teach her classes from home via Google classrooms. Gonna be interesting.?ÿ

No, it's not me selling it...
Well, from down this way, last week Air New Zealand CEO said he'd take a 15% pay cut, then Qantas CEO said he'd go 100%.
NZ Govt has just announced that all international arivees (sp) must self isolate. Cruise ships banned entirely.
AutoDesk just sent an email flyer saying they are relaxing their payment and credit terms.
Here's an interesting graph:

Yesterday, I was scheduled to be involved with 3 public events and do prep for 1 other.?ÿ Of those 3 were canceled and 1 thinly attended.
I had nothing scheduled today. Tomorrow church and a concert are canceled.
[cynic] I think what really got peoples' attention wasn't the CDC or president, but when our great religion, SPORTS, canceled. [/cynic]
I hear you, I really didn't have much of a choice.
I was running low and so were my 3 adult children; I didn't want to go 2 weeks without TP...
