Late last week my mouse decided to not recognize any clicks at all. Try running today's machine without a mouse! It ain't easy to say the least. So I go get a new wireless one. Saturday I'm back in full operational mode again. Saturday night I turn the monitor off. Sunday I turn the monitor back on and the on/off button doesn't work.
Clearly, it's impossible to even attempt to operate the machine without a monitor. I can't call my friend to order a new one because I can't see the phone #s in my contacts list. Fortunately my neighbor had his number. Sunday night he orders me a new monitor and it came in today. Great! I'm back operational after setting the new display settings. It's all good. I go to check on local weather and beerleg stuff.
Now what?!!! Now my new mouse scroll wheel won't scroll. It's stuck. Of course I destroyed the clam-shell packaging and threw away the receipt so as not to go get a replacement! Lucky dumb-A on me.
It's an amazing run of crappy luck for sure.
Amazing how we get really used to that little scroll-wheel.

I've been using my tablet a lot lately. Now when I use the PC, I find myself trying to use the monitor as a touchscreen.
:good: I find myself trying to do that all the time, and acting very puzzled when it won't work.:-D
i picked up a tablet PC two years ago.
i just left my keyboard at a friend's house
so i tried an old bluetooth
it worked great on WinXP
but on Win7 you need to disconnect / reconnect every time i start up the machine
i did get it to connect one, but i'm not sure how
at any rate, i pulled an older wireless keyboard out of the computer storage bin
it is working just fine
it is always good to have spare parts
i have an assortment of old parts that may not work right, but will get me through the day if i have something break
good luck with your computer issues
