They say there is a large comet coming in Nov. which may outshine the moon, and next week we may be able to see this recently discovered comet just after sunset.

This one might hit Mars in 2014.

Hope it doesn't alter the orbital path our way!

Sure you are not thinking of the Panstarrs comet which is to show up early next week?

I just heard about it a few days ago.

E, those are one and the same. I look forward to seeing the one in Nov.

I only remember seeing 1 other comet. There were two occasions in SA when I saw a meteor. One flashed across the sky in just a few seconds near to sunset. The other was at night and took longer to disintegrate, showing various colors as it burned up.

Really? The same comet twice in a year? I've never heard of that.

I've had the pleasure of seeing several comets in my time. Pretty awesome sight!!
Last one was Hale-Bopp in the late 90's. I forget exactly when. It gave me an incredible sight every evening on my way home from work.

Me too!

Starting with Comet Kohoutek when I was 13, I've made a point to put my eyes on all the ones I could.

Must have seen at least 8 or 9 by now, but Hale-Bopp was by far the best show out of the pack.
