Cheyenne Woods shot a 3 over par 75 at her first US Women's Open. She is tied for 62nd place and 6 shots behind the leader. She is in good shape to make the cut.

Meanwhile Uncle Tiger shot a 1 over par 71, and is tied for 88th place, 8 shots behind the leader and in position to not make the cut.

Does he blow this tournament off to go watch his niece?

Would you?

I'll go out on a limb and say Tiger makes the cut and finds himself in either the last group or the next to last group on Sunday.

It seems a bit of his old winning ways are creeping back in and I believe he is the only player on the PGA tour to have three wins this season.

that's silly, Paul.

Does the guy have to win every time he hits the greens? I think he is getting his game back because he is clearly off the training (or drugs) that was bulking him up. He was starting to look like a body builder there, and that can't be good for a golf swing. If it was body in a bottle, then it might explain his other problems too.

I agree, Andy.

Just from a personal observation, I believe Tiger may be finding some peace in his life after the unfolding of his marriage. I believe the internal unrest has had more to do with his lack of game than anything else.

that's silly, Paul.

hasn't he had some serious knee and achille's problems that made him change is swing in a major way coinciding with his mental issues from his personal life.

It seems that he is chillin' more on the course nowadays or just checking his emotions better.

Robert,

It's true he's had four knee surgeries, if I'm not mistaken, to date, but with his talent and natural ability, retooling his swing around those ailments is more than doable.

It just seems to me that his mind is less clogged and the one thing that I feel he has lacked, focus, has returned to his game.

But hey, what do I know? For a golfer, I'm one heck of a surveyor. 🙂

Tiger, Being Tiger

Is currently shooting par but that may not do him any good. The players that went out this morning really hit some low scores. Tiger had a late afternoon start and had different conditions. He birdied the last hole to go -1 for the day, even par, so far today that puts him tied for 79th position. Par will probably be the cut line.

Not actually bad for Tiger, if he makes the cut he goes out tomorrow in the earliest group, todays leaders go out in the heat.

Also wilting in the afternoon heat is yesterday's leader Vijay Singh, he is + 4 for the day and just finished. He is tied for 32ndh and will play tomorrow.

Cheyenne also had a late afternoon start and is currently +5 for the day and tied for 88th. She has 4 holes to get a birdy or two.

Tiger And Cheyenne Miss Cuts

Cheyenne bogied the last hole and is done for the weekend.

Tiger shot one under par was even for the torunament but the cut line was 1 under par.

I cannot recall the last time a cut was that low.
