My wife and I took my Mother to see Charley Pride last night. I realize I'm showing my age but it was probably close to the best concert I have ever attended. At 79 he is still just as sharp as ever. He did a 2 hour show without an intermission. Mostly singing with a little history and some cutting up with the people in the first few rows.

Pride was promoting his newly released album and has another coming out next year. He talks alot about his wife of 60 years. One song he sung that I have never heard was Gods Coloring Book. It was written by Dolly Parton and Pride's wife was responsible for getting the two of them together. I haven't found the duet version of the song online but here is Pride's version of it.

It is a song that any Surveyor that spends time out in nature can relate to.

Pride is part of a group led by Nolan Ryan that bought the Texas Rangers. According to Wikipedia, he still shows up for spring training:

"Pride's lifelong passion for baseball continues; he has an annual tradition of joining the Texas Rangers for workouts during spring training. A big Rangers fan (Dallas has been his home for many years), Pride is often seen at their games."

I am jealous. We don't get concerts like that on the West Coast.

You can definitely tell that's a Dolly song.
