The best I could come up with...............................

?ÿ

Once upon a time there was a tavern
Where we used to raise a glass or two
Remember how we laughed away the hours
And think of all the great things we would do
Those were the days my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we choose
We'd fight and never lose
For we were young and sure to have our way
La la la la la la
La la la la la la
La la la la La la la la la la
Then the busy years went rushing by us
We lost our starry notions on the way
If by chance I'd see you in the tavern
We'd smile at one another and we'd say
Those were the days my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we choose
We'd fight and never lose
Those were the days, oh yes those were theƒ??

@flga

Well obviously it is a shrink tape.

I have a couple of Leica laser plummets that have the hole for the tape hook drilled in the wrong location.  What is 10 mm anyway.

Back to the shrink tape, my family was in the foundry business (until I decided to bail on them and switch from ME to something that would keep e away from Freight Liner).  The business was a pattern shop and we had special shrink rulers for various metals that would account for the contraction of the molten metal when it cooled in the mold.  You really had to be careful when you pick up a ruler around the joint.

I was helping set up chairs in a gym for a Christmas pageant and we needed a straight line for the end seats on the aisles.?ÿ I didn't have a string line in my truck but I did have a 100 foot cloth tape.?ÿ I gave one end to another fellow that helping and told him to be careful, this is a special tape.?ÿ It only has 10 inches per foot to make it easier to calculate spacing.?ÿ It took him about 30 seconds before it hit him.

It's often interesting to take a tape and loop it back parallel to itself so you can compare the markings. A good name brand tape will often mismatch 1/32 or even 1/16 inch between some spans on the tape.?ÿ?ÿ I've heard that finish carpenters have a rule that only one tape can be used on a project for that reason.?ÿ An el-cheapo tape like a little advertising giveaway will be worse.

@flga

the upper tape is missing 3/16" on the zero end. Manufacturing defect.

Ive heard carpenters distinguish between push and pull.

Actually it looks like the one was altered after the fact. Bottom one is black painted aluminum or steel rivets, top on is brass rivets.

The edit filter on this website probably doesn't know it, but at the IBM chip fabrication plants, pseudo-metric was a vile obscenity.
