I was looking into taking this course to fulfill some of my con ed credits. For those who have this certification do you have any opinions. Would you obtain the cert again? Do you see any benefit for your business?
If you haven’t taken it but looked into, what were your thoughts?

I live/work mostly in M&B states. The only PLSS state I am licensed in is AR. I have looked into taking the class to obtain the certification, just because I find it very interesting and would like to learn more about the PLSS.

One of the college courses (Public Land Survey System) I took was taught by a Mr. Steve Parrish, who is certified as a CFedS. We discussed the program and even looked at some of the material covered in the program. It looked like it would be well worth the time/effort/money.

I really learned a lot from the course. As a Colonial Surveyor I was interested in the potential of work IF the feds started requiring CFedS for any federal and Indian lands.

Although it hasn't had an impact on our business, at lest that I am aware of, I am still happy that I went through the course.

It's challenging and it will cause you to view evidence and procedures differently than before. Even for a Colonial Surveyor.

It is not a given that states will accept CFEDS training for CEU credits, so check first if that is one thing you are betting on.

Also CFEDS has it's own fees and Continuing eduction requirements to maintain active certification.
