One January back in the mid 80's, I crossed the?ÿ (Vic S34, T2S, R6W, PM,M) Jefferson River ( frozen) in the morning to shoot the south bank- My boss was high on the bluff to the north with the Zeiss TH2 and AutoRanger... about mid morning there was a rising roar as?ÿthe main channel ripped wide open for a significant length of the area of interest (several hundred feet). He comes across the lo- band radio we had at the time.... " just walk to the south west?ÿuntil you can find a place you think it's safe to cross.." - I'm thinking, " that's pretty much the bridge in Twin Bridges...."?ÿ

It was 1 degree this morning when I left the house. We still have snow and ice everywhere, and our guys are surveying in the roads for drainage inventory and road improvements. They are at home today. Windchill advisories of subzero windchills.?ÿ

Hopefully we can get them back in the field tomorrow.

Just another day surveying in winter around here.?ÿ

We've got the opposite problem, temps are up into the 40's and everything is melting, which will later refreeze, making it slicker'n snot.

Do I notice a reference to Brother Dave Gardner there??ÿ For those not in the know "Brother Dave" was a comedian in the '50s and '60s.?ÿ Hilarious.

We were there in 2010 to get away from the cold weather up here.?ÿ Dang if it didn't get down in the 30's with a cold wind. On the good side you did recommend a good seafood restaurant that we enjoyed.
