We have a Refugio State Beach in the Refugio Rancho in Santa Barbara County. It's pronounced "refoofee-oh"
> We have a Refugio State Beach in the Refugio Rancho in Santa Barbara County. It's pronounced "refoofee-oh"
The proper Spanish pronunciation is Re-foo-hee-oh, with the accent on the second syllable, but in Texan it's Re-fear-ee-owe, also with the accent on the second syllable.
> Especially because my children are named Tiffany and Chad.
Don, that’s a red herring. ALL children in the last two generations of Californians are named Chad or Tiffany. Don't' you have a TV? And besides, Californians who hail from elevations above 3000 feet above sea level get a pass up here* since they are considered real people owing to the fact that they can operate chainsaws, split firewood and fix a flat tire… the holy trinity of citizenship in the great state of Orygun.
*Offer not valid in the Los Angeles suburb of Mammoth Lakes. See holy trinity requirements

LOL!
Texas Deed for Jim Bowie and Grant for Davy Crockett
James Bowie came to Texas prior to the revolution and purchased his land from Mexico, hence the Mexican Grant in Spanish (with his signature).
Davy Crockett (heirs) was given a Bounty Grant due to his death fighting at the Alamo.
LA drivers at least can sort of handle driving in the snow. Bay Area drivers drive the same no matter the conditions, 80 is a minimum to be observed. They apparently think that is what the 80 in I-80 refers to, hence Donner Pass closing due to "multiple spin-outs" more than it is open due to snow showers in the winter.
You probably should exclude South Lake Tahoe too.
Isn't Crescent City really in Southern Oregon?
I will inform my children their names are Tiffany and Chad which they didn't know but will soon.
Mine were surprised, too.
Especially my boy, Tiffany.
I imagine your daughter,Chad, will have some adjusting to do.

As I recall, the great part of the land certificates issued to David Crockett was that about thirty-five years later various parties claiming heirship under two different wives were arguing about the rightful ownership of land located by virtue of the certificates.
