Mr. Schumann is 89 today. What some people call a binary day since it is 11-01-11. Graduated from A&M in 1948 and founded this office in the spring of 1951. Still comes into the office most days. Happy birthday to my boss, Max Schumann, TxRPLS No. 137.
Was he your mentor? Wow 89 and still going at it, that’s great! Tell him I said happy birthday and an attaboy too! 🙂
Have a great week!
I worked for Ed west and Richard Brooks at West & Brooks - Good folks!
We did too many really cool projects to even get started on.
I ran a really cool model train off the end of the tracks as we were setting
it up (not while surveying;) ). Ricky just kinda smiled - it was his train and he didn't kill me.
Mister your a better man than me....
You got to love the history of surveying and the guys who endured it.......
The guys with their feet on the ground. Who needs a scribe - I will
bite it and leave my mark!
This is kinda of their story:
Andy, I thought you went to work for the wind turbine people.
Wow....your boss has been surveying about as long as I have been alive! (Although I feel that way myself sometimes....)
Congrats to him!
Mr. Schumann was not my mentor per se, I have known who he was for the 18 years I've been surveying because I was always curious who had the lowest precticing Texas registration number. But I have learned a lot about surveying and surveyors in west Texas from having worked here for the last 3 years.
Paul, I have tried to land some wind turbine projects, but to this date never a one.
