Well it's time for an updated
'family picture', when you can
get 'em all together.

Cute kid but before I offer sincere congratulations...

Are you accepting government financial assistance in any way or is your rural surveying business supporting all these kids?

Just wondering how you are pulling off paying for all them.

Well, BL

I have a very strong independent spirit in me.

Homebirth

Homeschool

and

a milk cow.

And not alot of extra cash.

And I did not vote for world wide communism.

And, I did not buy a new car, or a new boat. Ever.

I have my own priorities. More like many early Pioneers, in USA.

And, Monsanto, is a bad group of folks.

Well, BL

Good for you Nate. That's a much nicer answer than I would have given that question. Have a wonderful Sunday with your brood!

Well, BL

Congrats on the little one and to the Mrs.
Hope all are doing well.
I'm sure big sis wil take care of her lil' sis.
What a great day to be born on..the first day of spring. I guess if it was a boy she could have been called "Vern" for Vernal but I know that your family will choose the right name.

and I agree with what andy posted.

Well, BL

I think Nate gave a great answer, also don't see anything wrong with an honest question. While I believe Nate is being truthfull I still don't get how a rural surveyor with a stay at home wife can support all those kids.

I need Nate to come give me a lesson in family economics.

Congrats Nate!!!

Well, BL

Must be me, then, but my Dad taught me to never ask a man such a personal question. If you were close friends, maybe... But then if you were you close wouldn't ask. Sort of a catch 22.

Andy, I understand where you are coming from and how this bad idea gets passed on from generation to generation but honestly it is this invisibility that causes people to be poor generation after generation..never getting out of the rut.

Learning, questioning, and educating ones self is never wrong....ever....never..never never never.

Maybe Nate could share this magic formula with me and I would appreciate it, maybe I have some input that could help him, I would be proud if I could help someone be richer.

Say what you want about money but the difference between a homeless person and one with a house is money, the difference in a fine education vs a crappy one is often money, the difference between feeding your family or not is money, the difference between quality healthcare or poor/zero health care is money, the difference between living with your parents or on your own is money, between having a secure retirement or not is....money.

Why did the farmenr lose his farm...money.

I certainly did not make the rules but this earth is still ruled by the law of the jungle fair or not.

The way to get more is to be more educated, the way to get more educated is by asking questions and learning.

Truth be known, if Nate was taking government assistance while making all these babies I would not congratulate him but if he is making it on his own as a surveyor...he11 I want to know how and would definately congratulate high five him.

Well, let me educate you BL.
You are so wrong. The difference is living within your means or trying to live beyond your means. Couples making $100,000 each lose their homes because they also have new cars, boats, vacations ect...
By contrast. I have nine kids and my wife stays at home. Until a few years ago we have done this on a crew chiefs pay.
How?
The only loan, is for the house. PERIOD (and we built it ourselves after work so it cost half what yours did). That's right, no car loan, no boat loan, no vacation loan. If we want any of that, we save up for it.
When we eat out, it's a special occasion.
When we go on vacation, that means we are going camping.
If some one is getting new cloths (not from Goodwill) it must be their Birthday.
Some of the kids hunt/fish. Some garden.
My cell phone was free and only makes calls and texts.
Our major appliances come from Craigslist.

I can go on and on but the point is that we live within our means. The same way most of our grandparent did (curiously most of them also had large families). I do not know Nate, but I have a feeling that he lives much the same way and I also suspect that he is a very happy man and would not want to live any other way, much like myself.

Hope this helps you understand, there is so much more to life than MORE money.
Scott

Well, BL

Sorry, but your timing and thought process here is terrible. If you need to know about Nate's finances, send him an email. Again, kudos to Nate for staying on the high road.
