This may be a long shot, but since it is Germany, and it will be Oktoberfest and there is a chance that others from this forum will be attending InterGeo, and this is the BeerLeg, I am wondering if anyone else is going to InterGeo? ( http://www.intergeo.de/ )
It might be fun to meet at a nearby bar and tip a couple in Wendell's honor. And talk about all the cool things we see while prowling the 522 exhibitor booths. If I am the only one going, then I guess I will drink all the beer (I am certainly okay with that) and report back on what is going on.

This might be a long shot, but since I'll be in Turkey TX, and they have BBQ, and beer, and I think they are still BYOB for hard stuff, if there is a chance others in this forum might be in the area of the Hotel Turkey on the night of the 13th, 14th or 15th of Oct, and this is beer leg, I figured I'd take a shot at seeing if anyone else might be in the neighborhood. (Sorry, Mark, this is meant to be playing fun at you, because the chances of getting me to be in Germany are about the same as getting anyone to meet me at the Hotel Turkey LOL) In all seriousness, have a great trip, enjoy the beer, and the food, and find some neat info to share!!
You can have all of my share of the beer. Both of you.
BTW, is Turkey, TX anywhere near Muleshoe?
Depends on your definition of near. For Texas, it kinda is. Turkey is about 120 miles east of Muleshoe. Whole other scenery tho. Muleshoe is flat farmland. Turkey area we are gonna be in is canyonland. I'll actually be camping in the area known to history as the Valley of Tears, for the comanche indians.

Speaking of beer....
Yuengling is now available in
Louisiana. It has never been available before. I don't know if it was because of politics or why a distributor didn't supply it here. One only can wonder.
Anytime that I was in Alabama or Florida, I would pick up a supply to bring back. No need to now.
Yuengling beer or ice-cream?
The Black and Tan is my favorite. Used to be 50/50 but I can't get it anymore.
There is a chance that if Loyal gets home from Park City by 4:30 pm tomorrow, I will hoist one in your honor with him (well he will undoubtedly be drinking guinness). So that brings up the less exotic, but equally festive, possible BeerLeg meeting at Kate's in Evanston Wyoming, Friday September 23 at 4:30'ish.

Yuengling Beer oldest brewery in the U.S. Been there. For ice cream there is an old amusement park near there that has the best ice cream. It caked Knoebels. It is a piece of Americana.
Been to Park City too. Had a brew and a buffalo burger. Nice place if you like to ski. I was there for the scene.Left and headed to Moab. Better scene and scenery
Isn't Lotal a movable beer legged by nature?
Hamburg Germany must be a great place. There are 22 towns in the US named after it. In fact there are two towns called Hamburg located in two different states that are only 40 miles apart!

I like the sandwich named after it. (I like mine with lettuce and tomato, Heinz 57 and french fried potato)

Would that be Kate's in Evanston Wyoming, USA, or Kate's in Evanston Wyoming, Germany ?? :smarty:
No that i'm actually going there, or anywhere for that matter.
I thought Loyal drinks Moose Drool?
Look in the dictionary for the definition of "crusty". There's an almost identical picture accompanying that definition.
Crusty is good in my book. It proves you are a real surveyor.
I might have three or four more hairs on the top of my head but Loyal's chapeau resembles what keeps people from noticing such a deficiency atop my head.

what's the event? bob wills day is in the spring, no?
only ever been to turkey on the meandering way out to olton (had a great aunt who lived there). not sure if it's still there, but at one time the self-proclaimed "world's largest golf cart dealer" was in olton. other than the dairy queen and a blinking red light, that's about all there was. olton is about half way between plainview and muleshoe. then between olton and plainview there are/were three cotton gins/wide spots in the road: quarterway, texas, halfway, texas, and threequarterway, texas.

Question is what is the beer brand.
Looks like a Carlsberg Pilsener and cold and inviting
Good choice and Cheers back at them.
