Now, it is more gray than red but oh well. That is better than some of the alternatives some of my friends have had. They are pushing up daisies in the marble orchard. That is something I hope to delay for a while longer. Many of us of this age have figured out how to keep going. Beware of old men who have survived in a young man's world. As long as it it still fun, I will keep on doing this. Thanks.

My hair was a dark, dark reddish brown when I was young and my beard was a lighter red. They both have melded into silver in the last twenty years. 😉

Correct me if I'm wrong. It seems to me that in your early avatar photos that goatee was as black as the border around your missing poster. Has operating this site really been that stressful?????

Attaboy, Tom. But, a warning. Don't attempt to eat fish planks with tartar sauce on them while driving down the road while sporting whiskers of that length. Don't ask me how I know this.;);)

I've got one, and I've had at least a goatee and mo since 1985. But I'm weary of it. My mate from high school who was and still is an avid hunter once told me that he and his Pa did a 2 week hunting trip in the hills but near the end they got snowed in at hut, with another hunter who was caught in the same area. This other guy had a beard and mo and arrived at the hut a few hours after they did, cold and tired, but with a gigantic green booger nestled through his mo. My mate and Pa were too polite to say anything and just watched it for the next 2 days as it changed shape, texture, colour, moisture content and maturity. There was no mirror in the hut and they kept putting shiny things in front of him, like enamel plates and rifle scopes and reading glasses in the fruitless hope that he'd see his reflection, and after he left, always wondered what his reaction was when he finally did.

I use to work with a fella that had a really smart sense of humor. Occasionally at lunch he would find a small piece of shredded green lettuce (from tacos, burgers, salads, etc.) and roll it up into a small mess and stick it in his moustache right under a nostril. It was hilarious to watch some folks reactions. Some people would mention it immediately or offer a napkin...some folks would crane their necks in odd positions just to not look at him.

Good harmless humor. 😉

Hair on my head finally grew back after the chemo (except for the bald part on top). I now find short is easier to maintain, and my wife does not like it shaved... (I really like to watch Sonya while she cuts it too 😉 )
Beard is now kept short, I trim it with the comb on my clippers every week or so... easier to maintain.

Shaving: only now and again, not every day as when I was working, but just for meetings or when I feel like it.
Upper lip got shaved because the dive mask did not seal well with the mustache (2 or 3 decades ago). I quit diving but I like the clean lip.
Neck itches when it is in that middle stage so it gets shaved also.

This was my wife and me 40 years ago. My hair is now white, I weigh significantly more, I still have the mustache but not the beard. I would grow a beard every Fall and shave it in the Spring. My wife said my personality changed whenever I grew or shaved the beard.

We were all handsome/gorgeous 40 years ago. What the heck happened to us? I ran into a young woman, now 66, who was a high school cheerleader 50 years ago. Every boy in school wanted a date with her, despite her being a very conservative young lady. I'll just say she isn't what she used to me and neither am I.

You got that right! That guy's as ugly as a mud fence! If my dog was that ugly, I'd shave his butt and teach him to walk backwards.
But he sure can turn angles and measure distances, so I'll keep him a round...

That poster, RADAR; sure is a swell guy.
