The battery is under the seat.?ÿ The seat is a PIA to remove and replace.?ÿ I would like to attach something to the battery terminals that would always "hang low" so I could attach the battery to the trickle charger easily when it is garaged.?ÿ Suggestions please??ÿ (A) for the connection solution, and (2) for the actual trickle charger.

EDIT:

LMGTFY (sorry everyone, I came here first.?ÿ I guess cause I love this bar):?ÿ Never mind & Carry on.

Brad,

I've used this for years and it works great. Check it out.

I don't have a picture but an solution would be to mount another set of battery terminal posts in a more accessible location and splice another section of cable to the existing cables to connect them. You might have to use some good silver solder on the splice. Oh.....and very important make sure the new battery terminals are kept securely covered so that you don't light yourself up with a machete contacting the terminals.

I would put them in a small pelican case.

Now on a previous 4 wheeler I spliced in some extension on my leads and routed them out on opposite sides so I did not have to remove the seat all the time. Both are fairly easy once you get over the anxiety of cutting perfectly good cables.

Maybe look at the set up golf carts use. I seem to recall they have a quick attach charging post mounted remotely for this very reason.?ÿ

I used a Battery Tender simply because that is what the shop sold.?ÿ

In regard to the charger, don't get a cheapo. Ctek appear to be best quality around (BMW used to re-badge them and sell them as accessories for their cars). Expect to pay $100.

I'm a bit concerned about the claim that one of those chargers is good for all lead-acid batteries, whether flooded and vented, sealed maintenance free, AGM, or gel.?ÿ I've read there can be some differences in the proper float voltage.

I suppose the max current for initial charge is low enough not strain even a 7 amp-hour Trimble cowbell.

i got some cheapo at oreilly's that is like this, but was only like 30 bucks.?ÿ been on the old CB for a few years now without a single hiccup.

just screwed the leads onto the posts, they hang out from under the seat by enough to plug in but not be in the way.
