"Banana Joe", a dog who looks a lot like a four-legged monkey, frankly, was judged "Best In Show" last night. The English Sheepdog, despite having the loudest rooting section, was named the "Alternate" (I guess in the event of some kind of doggy scandal, think Vanessa Williams possibly?)
My wife and I laughingly call this "The Ugly Dog Show". I realize that the dogs are judged on the "Traits of the Breed", and that there are those who love that particular breed, but GEE they do pick some UGLY dogs. Of course to me anything not in the "Working Dogs" or the "Hunting Dogs" isn't "really" a dog.

I agree, here's my rescue dog "Roo" found him out on a job one day. Put an ad in the paper, checked a few houses in the area and called the local Humane Society (which was less than a mile from where I found him) waited 2 weeks then claimed his as my own. I believe that someone dumped him, no idea why such a loving critter and house broken to boot! 😀

She was a great dog. To keep up with the Jones' I used to say she was a Miniature Serbian Timber Wolf. More people would say, "Why I never hear of that breed."
Awesome looking pup there and such a great story. Our next dog will probably be a rescue or a mutt puppy.
