Spam mail

I receive this stupid emails on occasion, but I'm unclear on how there is any financial gain for the other party, unless;

they over pay and then want money back on a bad charge/check...you know that old game...

I don't have a store, just the survey business.

I've never responded because I know it's some sort of scam, just not clear on what kind!
