Texas license holders are given requirements by our Board to become licensed again.

Usually it includes becoming caught up on CEUs and paying fees and fines for allowing the license to lapse.

If your loss of license was a condition to avoid paying fines, those fines must be paid plus other conditions set forth by the Board.

After a lengthy amount of time it could also include taking part of the state exam over.

Typically LSI or LSIT does not expire because you become licensed, but no on much cares about it because they are licensed. But when you consider the variety of requirements to become licensed there may be other states that still look at you as unlicensed, therefore you may still be an LSI/LSIT for that state until you get additional experience and/or more education and then take their exam. Not knowing particularly about Texas I will comment on PA, I know recent PEs and PLSs still have their EIT, LSIT status listed on the State website. In fact your license status remains on the website after you are deceased.

My opinion is that once you qualify as a Land Surveyor, you are always a Land Surveyor. ?ÿIf you fail to renew your license, you do not have the right to practice until you get your license back in good standing. Just remember what opinions are like.?ÿ

I am a land surveyor in all 50 states, but am only licensed to practice in 4 states.?ÿ
