An insurance company attorney asked for a quick proposal to measure the height of a sidewalk panel in a trip-and-fall matter.?ÿ I dropped what I was doing, reviewed the photos he sent, and emailed the proposal.?ÿ He got back just as quickly with a signed contract, so I set up the job in my accounting and job tracking applications and put it on the calendar for next week.?ÿ

Then I decided to take a look at Google Earth Street View to make sure I understood just which sidewalk panel we were talking about.?ÿ That's when I saw the images of the brand-new sidewalk, which I sent to the attorney for confirmation.?ÿ His response was "Damn, I haven't been out there for a few months.?ÿ Never mind."

I had exactly the same thing happen with me, only the attorney on my end is a friend and we have a long standing relationship so it was no big deal on my part.  He reaches out to me from time to time asking me for my professional advice, sometimes it takes time for me to research to provide a defensible answer and when I have legal questions related to almost anything, he'll spend the time to research my question and provide a sound legal opinion at no charge.  Sometimes one hand washes the other and the guy I am talking about is very well respected in the legal community, even arguing cases before the State and Federal Supreme courts.

Soooo basically the moral of the story here is if anyone ever tips and falls on my property it's way cheaper to pour a bit of new sidewalk than to face down a lawsuit, got it!
