There are couple options out there. I'm partial to TIVO. You can find the a Roamio OTA unit with a lifetime subscription for $200-$400 on ebay.
You do need a network connection to down load programing. But it also integrates streaming content from Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, YouTube, Pandora and more.
If you don't have a network connection you can find an older series TIVO that uses a phone line to download updates.
