Looking to get into a SUV, suburban etc...

Any pics of your setup/configuration for surveying?

Any prefab box manufacturers that you would recommend?

Would like to keep the middle row functional for seating (hauling kiddos).

Thanks!

Having a back seat that is divided and will fold down on each side is a plus when the day comes you need the extra length of storage space.

🙂

So far the best SUV for the job has been a Dodge Journey. In any SUV space can be a little tight so you have to be careful how you load it up, but we have been pretty happy with the Journey. We had a Jeep Liberty for a little while and it was just too small. For a two man crew any SUV will work but if you have a large stakeout with a ton of lath and maybe a third guy, you will be miserable.

I found this on the net, very customizable. A little rich but it will last a long time. Leaning towards a suburban at this point, maybe expedition if the rear cargo will work for me.

Not an endorsement, but will check it out.

We have decided that one feature that is important to us is a divider between the stuff and the people. Having a few dozen rebar coming at the back of my head at 60 mph is not a fun thought.

:good:

Ever get in a high speed roll over and the interior could turn into a cuisinart blender of flying machetes, 4 pound hammers and spud bars. No thanks.

Just because I'm paranoid, doesn't mean they aren't out to get me.

Agree. Divider is a must for non-pickup applications.
