Hello to all the community!
I have been tumbling across some Surveying instruments being sold as a whole lot online from Chicago, Illinois. The description says that it is only: NAVIGATIONAL INSTRUMENTS
On the picture below, I see some tripods, prism-holding tripods, a black box with some stuff, various prism reflectors, a red box with a total station case, another red box full of cable/accessories, and a yellow box with additional cables.
Now I would really like to ask the community if someone has any idea of what is inside the black box at the leftmost part of the picture below. What is it actually? It looks like some sort of rod but I am not sure.
Here is a close-up of the Black box:
It is just my curiousity but I am very eager to know what these are actually.
Ok. I'll go first.
I don't know.
Nate
I don't know either.?ÿ More photos, particularly photos of the bits assembled, might help.
?ÿ
The backpack is for a resource grade GPS setup. I recognize the antenna mast in the box. I'm not certain what the other contraption is but probably for some sort of sampling. That last sentence is a complete guess. I'm glad this isn't an auction because my curiosity would force me to buy it...
?ÿ That is the often-sought, but over-priced hecifino.?ÿ Haven't seen a hecifino in years.?ÿ Offer them $30 and see if you become a winner or a whiner.
Penetrometer ?
The orange plastic rectangle with the v-notch and rubber band is a ??Hold A Pole?. It goes on top of a tripod and a GPS pole is strapped into the v-notch with the rubber band. I think CHC distributed it with their OPUS Static Receiver somewhere around 10 years ago.?ÿ

The red box looks like a Leica TS. Model unknown.?ÿ
@holy-cow that is clearly a linear pentabulator?ÿ
Are you sure it's not an encanabulator?
Pig castrator
Very close guess.?ÿ In the wrong hands it could easily be a human emasculator.
