My wife, our two-year-old daughter, and I just moved back to my home state of Maine from North Carolina where I hold an active PLS license. I am approved to sit for the Maine State Specific portion of the PS exam in October. Prior to getting bit by the land surveying bug, I gained a great deal of hands on experience in a variety of trades including welding & pipe fitting, logging, construction, fly fishing guiding, marine canvas design & installation, and roll tending on a large web printing press. I mention the ancillary experience as it has proven to be useful in client relations and engineering/construction projects. Please feel free to contact me any time if you have any questions.
Bethel's a tough location - not really commutable to Portland or Augusta. Are you planning on staying there permanently, or just waiting to see where you land a job?
Bethel is where I grew up and where I am settling down. I own a house about 50 minutes from LA and was hoping to get work there. I just received an offer to work for a local business with the option to buy or simply take over the company.
