A two hour drive north across the plains, through the vinyards and into the broken hill country and down to the sea at Gore Bay.

Gore Bay is a remote seaside village, mostly holiday homes and a few permanent residents.

Set up on the esplanade reserve, today's job was to as-built some piles being driven to support a couple of prefabricated buildings on the hillside behind - you might be able to make out the digger. Its a real 'Grand Designs' sort of project - a challenging site, a keen owner and a very limited budget.

One of those places that you drive past the turn off, unless you have a reason to go there. Looks nice 🙂

Lots of houses at too low an elevation, seems to me.

@dmyhill The guy that bought an unbuildable site at auction for very little, somehow got a building permit for a modular (converted shipping containers), and will be high and dry when the nest tsunami event crashes ashore. Oh, he has to hike in from the other side of the property because there is no road access. I am just speculating though.
