Carl Loando From Hawaii....

Is the surveyor. :good:

"Don't make me out to be a hero," Loando told the Star-Advertiser. "I don't know what prompted me to go in there."

Ok, how about a freaking awesome guy for doing what he did then??? Way to go!!! You rock Carl!!

(If you see this thread Mr. Loando, let me know...I'll send you a goodie. 🙂 )

I have a radio in my truck and I know how to use it to contact the ECC (Emergency Communications Center). So far I haven't needed it though. If I came across an accident or fire in a remote area with no cell service I can use that radio to hit the repeater to talk to the dispatcher to get help on the way.

The other crew came across a non-injury accident but they just drove a couple of miles to the fire station and told them in person. I think the request was for a CHP officer.

Keep it going for the folks on here

who do this on a daily basis. Alan Cook, J.D. Billings, Wayne Morgan and others who donate their time and energy to pull all kinds of people from infernos, mangled cars, ponds, under trees, et cetera.

God bless the firemen!

Over 70% of America's firefighters are unpaid volunteer departments, and I am sure that many here have served, myself included.
