?ÿHello guys, I am just wondering if someone experienced the same issues that Iƒ??m having. My old S-6 was sometimes unable to turn on, especially when it was raining and the instrument got wet, I turned it off, set up someplace else and was unable to turn it on again. Of course, when I brought it to the shop, everything worked ?ÿperfect, ?ÿso I never found out what it was. Now I have had a brand new S7 for about two months and today the same thing happened twice. And it was dry. I am super frustrated. Does anyone have an idea what this might be caused by or has experienced similar issues? Thanks for any tips or replies.

Try cleaning the contacts on the battery and in the gun with a pencil eraser.?ÿ May just be a voltage issue due to slight corrosion if it got wet often enough.

Are you using the same batteries you had with the S6, or are you using new batteries? If you're still using the old ones maybe the batteries might be ready to keel over, try putting the batteries through a conditioning routine in the charger overnight and see if that corrects the issue.

Hey Plumb Bill, thanks for the tip, I think that might have been the issue with the old S6 but I've had the new S7 for 2 months. If it started corroding after 2 months of use (which I hope not), then maybe it is time to switch to Leica 🙂

Sometimes I do not fully close the battery door and it happens. It appears closed, but an easy push on the door will close it another .005' to fully close it.

it might not be corrosion, but the contacts might still not be "bright" enough metal.?ÿ Scratch them with a key or a finger nail file.?ÿ My S7 had the same issue.

Also, I take my finger and gently bend the contact arms outward in the instrument.
