I have a Trimble TSC3 and a R10 rover and use a Verizon Jetpack MiFi to connect to the NYSDOT RTN. Something happened a month or so ago and I am no longer able to connect. It has to be some silly setting that I am over looking. I get an error telling me the SIM card is not found which is correct cause we don't have one, never had one either. Sometime we can get past that and it tells us that it was refused by the host socket error. When I go into the TSC3 I can see the Jetpack under the available WIFI, but it will not connect to it.
Can anyone point me in the right direction as to what is happening here or where I can go to get some help. We have another rover that we connect through a cell phone and that hasn't given us a problem.
Thank you in advance.:pissed:

We had a similar issue.
We ended up needing to restart the R10, TSC and hotspot.
We then had to re-enter the WIFI password on the TSC.
I also remember that there was an issue about the site we connected to for NH had changes and we didn't know about it.
hope this helps but I do remember it caused us a problem.

Did your internet connection type get changed? Was this unit set up as a base/rover right around the time this started happening? I haven't run an R10 but on my Leica gear, to run base rover there is a setting about 87 menus deep where you change from RTCMv3 to Leica 4G for base/rover and then you need to change that back for RTK. Is that possible?
It actually started shortly after it came back from repair. I have tried restarting everything. There is just so many little settings that it doesn't take much to make it not work. Ive gone through so many setting, switched survey styles created survey styles. I guess its time to bite the bullet and hope I can get some help from Trimble... most of the time they don't have a clue
You have to be very systematic when troubleshooting something like this. Step 1 is ensuring that you have an internet connection, without that nothing is going to happen. Yes, there are a lot of little settings, any one of which can make the whole thing not work. If I can't connect to a WiFi, the first thing I'm going to do (after rebooting both WiFi and TSC3) is delete its settings from the TSC3 and start over. Before retrying with the TSC3 I'm going to connect to it with my laptop and verify the security settings.
If you can get an internet connection I can help you with the rest of it.
The message about a SIM card suggests that the software is trying to use the internal modem. With a WiFi the first page of your GNSS Contact should look like this:

Where are you located? Are you near Albany?
First thing I would like to say is I love this forum... someone is always willing to help. Either they have been through it or had something similar happen to them. That being said, I finally resolved the problem. That problem being the MiFi. I had to reset it to the factory defaults and it connected right up. Tested it in the parking lot then sent it out with a field crew to give it a second run. All is well in survey land now. THANK YOU again!
