I dug out my old Topcon GTS-3c to see what kind of shape it's in after 10 years in storage.?ÿ I have no plans to use it again but, for some reason, I want it to work again.?ÿ To my surprise, one of the battery packs is still good.?ÿ I have a guy who can fix the bad battery pack but my real issue is the FC/48GX data collector.?ÿ I messed with it a little and got the calculator to work but I can't make it thru the software installation without an error message.?ÿ It seems a little silly but I'd like to get this thing back in working order.?ÿ The HP-48GX is a little expensive to replace and I'm not 100% sure the problem isn't the TDS cards.?ÿ I also don't remember what kind of cable I used to d/l the data to the computer and that cable seem to be MIA as well.?ÿ Another option is to try to find a relatively inexpensive used data collector but I have no idea which ones will work with this instrument.?ÿ The third option is forget the whole thing and put it back into storage and let my son worry about getting rid of in in a few years.?ÿ Looking for some professional advice.
I vaguely recall that some of those data and/or memory cards had a battery in them.
