Hi,
Just looking for some help with data collection software options for time or distance based GNSS logging. (eg. store an RTK point every 2 seconds, or every 5 meters)
I know the Trimble field software has the continuous topo options which would do the trick, but wondering which other packages can do similar.
Look forward to the feedback! thanks!
I would say time is a better option. Suppose you come to a breakline point, you may not have come far enough to get it logged. If you pause longer than your interval you know you will get the shot.

Spectra Precision Survey Pro has the "Feature Collect" option:
Time Interval
Distance Interval -2D
Distance Interval -3D
Distance Interval-Vertical
Hold still for...
Manual: Prompt once
Manual: Prompt every point
You are also able to capture additional points at any time during the specified intervals by pressing the Enter button twice. This captures the shot and resets the interval to "zero". I hope this helps.
Javad does both time and distance. If time is met then an epoch is logged. If distance is met then an epoch is logged. If you change horizontal direction from previous two epochs by a user defined amount, like going around a curve, an epoch is logged. If the vertical slope deviates more than the user amount, an epoch is logged. If you stop, then collection stops even if the time has elapsed. This prevents bird nests.
All of these are options that can be turned on or off in any combination.
Thanks for the responses guys, all very helpful options!
