This is a message I sent my field worker this afternoon.

"Just got off the phone with L**** H****, the owner. Her son, A***** lives right there. I assured her that we probably won't have things sorted out until at least noon. Heaven knows we don't need spectators. The gate to go in was just hung recently and may not stay out of your way, so there is a chunk of wood or limb or something there to brace it while you drive through. The cattle are VERY friendly as some of them were raised from bottle calves. All the kind of information they never teach in surveying classes."

The cattle are friendly means only one thing. They will be all up in your grill. Worse than a cat scratching at your leg lol. My girls made pets out of a couple and to this day when i am trying to fix a fence or do something else they are all up on me wanting a treat or a rub down. Heaven forbid if we’re trying to do a survey with them all up on me. But hey it’s days like today when the whole family went to check on the herd. Kids grab their brushes out and i put out some feed. Check hind ends do a good look at them. Kids just brushing and petting their favorites. Another new calf hit this weekend and watching the young month old calves running around and the girls constantly trying all sort of tricks to get one up to them. Nothing better than that. Me watching every momma cow to make sure she is on with the kids out messing with the calves.
