So most of us who live/work in a rainy environment know the struggles with working in the rain with a data collector. There are some models and brands out there that have tried to specifically address this issue with either a rain mode for the screen or a physical "grounded stylus" (Topcon). We have recently switched to Trimble products and picked up the TDC600. Light rain doesn't seem to be a big deal, but medium to heavy rain builds up on the screen and wreaks havoc. Trimble released Customer FAQ's that state there is a physical button that deactivates the screen so the water can be wiped off, but I can't seem to find that function. I'm assuming it includes assigning the command to one of the programmable function keys... but where is the command??
Also, I read on here somewhere that people simply put a plastic bag over the collector. Has anyone else come up with a decent DIY solution?
