I have used reflective tape @ 800' or less with same accuracy as a peanut prism. I used a 2"x2" piece of 3M diamond grade conspicuity tape. Use it in construction for backsights and resections and never set up a tribrach anymore. Oh and i dont have to have reflectorless capabilities. My topcon gts and sokkia shoot just fine to this reflective tape.

One thing I like about reflectorless is I can shoot the neighbor's house corners discreetly. Or the previously mentioned ability to shoot dangerous (roads) or inaccessible (power lines, fenced compounds) places.
But don't let me talk you into it 🙂
